Located on the waterfront in the centre of the small town of Puerto Ayora, the Mediterranean-style Sol y Mar is perfectly placed for accessing Santa Cruz’s highlights. Pelican Bay is just 15 minutes’ walk from the Charles Darwin Research Station and the snorkelling spot at Las Grietas, or an hour from the pristine sands of Tortuga Bay. Although sections could benefit from a few updates, this small modern hotel is a solid choice. Functional rooms have comfortable beds, television, complimentary mini-bar, wi-fi and those along the waterfront have balconies with fantastic ocean views.
